50s Fitted Blouse. Vintage Butterick 556

IMG_20180608_165359I have started this blouse probably at the beginning of May, 2018 and finished it at the beginning of June.

I have done the view C and pattern is for a bust size of 42". The fit is lovely! I do like it.
It's not my everyday wear blouse as it's not completely my style. It will be a blouse to go out.
I've chosen polycotton. Why polycotton?
I have always avoided to use polycotton as I thought that it's not completely natural. But now I have totally changed my mind about it. I love polycotton. It washes very well. It doesn't wrinkle that much as other natural fabrics. Also, the print stays very well after the wash. The colours don't bleed and stay crisp and sharp. And the good thing is that it doesn't shrink after the wash/ dry cycle. And still, it's not complete synthetic, it has cotton in it which gives a good breathability. I see only positives about this fabric. So I will be using it very much in the future.

Difficulty? I have struggled with the collar a little bit and probably chosen the wrong interfacing. I should've gone for lightweight, not mediumweight. Well, this will be done the next time.
It fits nicely at the bust but I should've lengthened the pattern for about 2" at the waist as I'm a tall gal - 5'8" (1.76 m) and I feel that it's slightly too short and I would like to add the extra length as it keeps rolling up when I sit down or remain seated. So I noticed that I keep fixing and fixing it. And it really annoys me. I might make another one with the adjusted length.

This blouse pattern is a real treasure for my bust.
